The European competence framework for sustainability was developed by the European Commission and is based on a research process within lifelong learning. GreenComp encourages learning, reflection and questioning for the development of sustainability competence and participation in community development. GreenComp describes sustainability as a competence that can be developed, and continue to be developed throughout life. The framework therefore works both in preschool and at university, in association life and at companies. Sustainability competencies are relevant in all areas of life, both on a personal and collective level. GreenComp consists of 4 competence areas with a total of 12 equivalent building blocks.
